Announcement: CANZA Executive Director
Nick Betts will be leaving the position of Executive Director of the Canadian Alliance for Net-Zero Agri-Food (CANZA), effective April 2, 2026.
Since joining the organization, Betts has guided CANZA through critical stages of growth, helping establish the alliance as a collaborative force for advancing climate-smart agriculture across Canada’s agri-food sector.
His leadership focused on building meaningful partnerships and creating new opportunities to drive positive impacts across the agri-food value chain.
During his time with CANZA, Betts played a key role in expanding the CANZA alliance, bringing together partners from across the agri-food system to accelerate collective action on climate-smart agriculture.
Under his leadership, CANZA launched the Million Acre Challenge program, supporting Canadian farmers in adopting climate-smart practices at scale.
To ensure CANZA’s work continues seamlessly, Ashley Honsberger will serve as Interim Executive Director. CANZA’s strategic direction and priorities remain unchanged as the organization continues to work with partners, farmers, and collaborators to advance climate-smart agriculture through the CANZA alliance.
CANZA extends its sincere gratitude to Betts for his leadership and contributions to the organization and to the advancement of a strong, sustainable Canadian agri-food sector.
