The Canadian Alliance for Net Zero Agrifood (CANZA) and the National Circle for Indigenous Agriculture & Food (NCIAF) are partnering to bring Indigenous perspectives and knowledge into Canada’s transition to climate-smart and regenerative agriculture.

Through this collaboration, CANZA and NCIAF will work together to strengthen Indigenous participation in agriculture and ensure that climate-smart solutions are informed by Indigenous knowledge, values, and connection to the land.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from NCIAF and to ensure Indigenous farmers’ knowledge informs how we design our programs,” says Nick Betts, Executive Director, CANZA. “This partnership represents an important step in our commitment to inclusion and reconciliation.”

“NCIAF is proud to see Indigenous priorities represented in Canada’s journey to a net-zero agri-food system,” says Chris McKee, Senior Vice President of Business Development, NCIAF. “By working alongside CANZA, we can help ensure Indigenous voices help shape the future of agriculture.”

This partnership supports CANZA’s mission to co-create and scale climate-smart, measurable solutions that benefit farmers, communities, and the planet—while ensuring this work is inclusive and respectful of Indigenous rights, knowledge, and leadership.
